Route 463(Horsham Road) Widening
Project Overview:

State Route 463 (Horsham Road) will be widened to include four through lanes plus a center turn lane between General Hancock Drive and North Wales Road in Montgomery Township. The project will improve traffic flow along the busy corridor and provide easier access to the under-construction US Route 202 Parkway, which will cross Route 463 (Horsham Road) east of General Hancock Drive. The improvements are a continuation of previously completed widening on Route 463 (Horsham Road) between Stump Road and General Hancock Boulevard (SR 463/57S). Because of the current project’s proximity to the Parkway, construction on Route 463 (Horsham Road) will be managed in conjunction with the Parkway by PennDOT’s construction manager, Dick Corporation. Montgomery Township was instrumental in moving the project forward by providing funds to complete the design engineering and right-of-way acquisition.

Project Location:

Route 463 (Horsham Road), North Wales Road to General Hancock Boulevard, Montgomery Township, Montgomery County.

Project Details:

Widen 3,765 feet of Route 463 (Horsham Road) to four through lanes with a continuous center left turn lane.
Install new traffic signals at Upper State Road and North Wales Road intersections.
Construct related storm-water drainage improvements.

Construction Traffic Impacts
